The Allées d'Étigny
The grand lime-tree-lined promenade linking the town centre to the spa, with its Belle Époque façades, terraces and shops. The beating heart of the resort.

It links Luchon directly to the Superbagnères plateau. Skiers in winter, walkers and mountain bikers in summer: in a few minutes you go from town to a panorama over the Pyrenees range.

A mountain course with old-world charm, laid out between forests and peaks. One of the oldest golf courses in the Pyrenees, away from the bustle.
The Flower Festival
The great event of the Luchon summer: a flower parade, decorated floats and brass bands fill the Allées d'Étigny. A tradition that fills the town — book early.

Skiing at Superbagnères
The "balcony of the Pyrenees" and its 360° panorama over the border range. A family-friendly resort where you ski facing the peaks, reachable from Luchon without driving.
Sledging, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing
Beyond the pistes: beginner areas, snowshoe trails and cross-country routes on the plateau. Plenty to fill a snow day even without alpine skis.
Paragliding above the valley
Taking off from the plateau offers one of the finest views of the massif: the valley on one side, the border peaks on the other. Tandem flights with local instructors.
The Tour de France mountain passes
Superbagnères and the Col de Peyresourde are among the legendary climbs of the Tour de France. Cyclists come from afar to ride them — and the start is right from Luchon.
Lake Oô
The Luchon area's iconic hike: a mountain lake fed by a waterfall dozens of metres high. Family-accessible from Granges d'Astau, spectacular on arrival.
The Lys valley and the Cascade d'Enfer
A wooded valley close by, with its waterfalls and chasm. Short, shaded walks, ideal for half a day or an outing with children.
The Hospice de France
A former refuge on the pass road to Spain, in a mountain cirque at the end of the Pique valley. Starting point for many trails, and a destination in its own right.
The Port de Vénasque
A demanding climb to a border gap, rewarded with views over the Maladeta massif and the Aneto, the highest peak in the Pyrenees. For experienced hikers.
Rafting and canyoning
The white waters of the Pique and the Garonne are run by raft, kayak or canyoning, guided by professionals. The great summer-day classic.
Downhill mountain biking
The slopes of the Luchon area suit both downhill and cross-country riding, with marked trails and lifts open in summer to avoid the climb.
Skiing at Peyragudes
A larger resort spanning two slopes, known for its altiport and wide pistes. Less than an hour's drive for a change of scene.
Lake Loudenvielle and Balnéa
A mountain lake with a landscaped promenade, and the Balnéa wellness centre with baths inspired by different thermal traditions. The relaxing outing for uncertain weather.
Skiing at Le Mourtis
A small family resort where you ski among the fir trees, known for its relaxed atmosphere and gentle prices. Perfect for beginners or a child's first time on skis.
The Oueil valley
An unspoilt pastoral valley, with its stone hamlets and barns. Come here for the peace, the ridge paths and villages that have stayed off the tourist trail.
Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges
One of the most beautiful villages in France, crowned by its cathedral and built on a Roman site. A half-day visit that's a complete change from the mountains.
Saint-Béat, the marble town
Marble quarried here was used as far as Versailles. The village, its quarries and narrow streets along the Garonne can be explored in a morning.
